A Time I Was Proud by Angel Garcia Nunez

I’ll never forget the time I accomplished a goal. It all started when I was at home, and it was five o’clock pm .I was outside playing soccer. I practiced kicking the ball hard by kicking it with right foot. One time I kicked the ball so hard, I almost broke a fence (it was as cool as a lion running).
Moments later, I started to get tired by kicking the ball with right foot. All the sudden, I start to kick with left foot. I used to kick so weakly. Everytime I practiced I got stronger and stronger each day.
Minutes later, I started to kick harder. When I kicked the ball, it went as fast as a cheetah. I got surprised. That’s when I acconplished my goal.
In retrospect, I learned that if you practiced you can accomplish your goal. This lesson is important because you can accomplish many goals. I still use this lesson by kicking with left foot.

My Favorite Animal by Destiny Torres

My favorite animal is a duckling. To begin, ducklings are cute and fuzzy. They are very fuzzy when you pet their yellow fur. They are as small as your pencil. Additionally, they are nice to you when you hold them. They love to give you friendly kisses on the cheek. Also they lick you when you get close to their face. Lastly, they have the cutest quack ever; their quack is so adorable. Their quack is calm and sweet (like a puppy sleeping). Clearly, ducklings are my favorite animal because they are cute, friendly, and their quack is cute.

My Favorite Season by Destiny Torres

My favorite season is fall for many reasons. To begin , I love the leaves. I love it when I touch those crumply leaves that fly in the blue sky. I would love to rake the leaves in a pile bunched up together; I jump in them with my friends Vanessa, Venyce, and Breanne. Additionally, the gorgeous trees just stare down on me and shine brightly. Their colors (red, brown,green, and yellow) are so nice in fall. Lastly, fall has a wonderful breeze and moist air. It is not cold or too hot outside to play with friends. As the leaves fall it rains down on me during the cool breeze in fall. To wrap it up, you can see that fall is my most favorite season ever.

A Time I Was Scared by Breanne Gerlocke

I’ll never for get the time we were most terrified. It all stared when we were walking down the sewer and we were scared. We saw two green hideous monsters, and they were hideous as a zombie. So we brought them home. The monsters were hungry so we fed them an ice cream cone. They got all crazy and they broke Mom and Dad’s diamond and we were really terrified.
Shorty after, we named them Bulgy and Chubby. After we named them, they took a nap. We put a lock on the colorful door. An hour later bugly and chubly broke the metal lock. I said, “Bad Bugly and Chubly.” We were mad as a monkey when you take a banana from it.
All of a sudden, they got mad at us and they ran everywhere around the home. They found some machsticks and lit the home on fire. We got the fire out and we looked out the window and our parents were home. So we painted the monsters to blend in with the blueish, greenish wall.
In hindsight, are parents found out and we got grounded. Also are mom and dad got mad because Bugly and Chubly broke their diamond. We learned that never bring home a green ugly monster. We think we taught a very good leson and it’s never never never bring a monster home.

My Favorite Class by Alyssa Martin

Although I like many animals, the dolphin is the best for many reasons. For starters, I like it because it is blue. Blue is my favorite color. It also blends in with the sea. Moreover, dolphins are very flexible animal. They jump as high as a jet can fly. I will always love how they do backflips. Finally, dolphins are the smartest animals in the world. It can hear someone that is in trouble from a mile away. All dolphins swim from enemies. To wrap up, dolphins are my favorite animals because they are blue, flexible, and they are the smartest animals in the world.

A Special Day by Destiny Torres

I’ll never forget the time when I held a baby pup. I couldn’t believe it when I found out the good news. My mom said, “The dog is pregnant and you’re going to have a pup sister.” My dog was in the bed room in labor having the baby pup.

Just before I went up stairs the bed room door was shut. I waited for a couple of minutes waiting for my mom to come out. My mom finally came out of the room and she said, “Destiny come in the room and come have a look.” I walked in the door and saw the most gorgeous thing ever.

Later on, while I was in the room I got to hold a baby girl pup. She was as cute as a teddy bear and adorable with those blue eyes. We named her Bella; her fur was white as snow and brown also very puffy and fuzzy.

As I think about it now, I learned that you can always be happy good things happen. I use this today by when I see a pup I think about Bella.

My Favorite Class by Angel Garcia

Even though I like a lot of classes, P.E is my favorite. To begin, in P.E we get to do activities. My favorite activity is to run because we can sprint. My most favorite activity is Flag Grab, it’s as cool as playing video games. Furthermore, we can rest five to ten minutes. Laying down is relaxing. We can also sit down. Finally, we get to watch videos. We can watch basketball videos, they are as cool as a Mustang. I like to watch football videos because they are awesome. As you can see, P.E is my favorite class we get to run, rest five to ten minutes, and my class gets to watch videos.

My Favorite Family Member by Vanessa Trujillo

Even though I have many family members, I would choose my cousin Marisa as my favorite. To begin, she is really supportive. She is supportive because she helps me with any thing. She also helps me with any problems I have. Furthermore, she is very helpful. She is helpful because she is there for me; she is helpful in many ways. We work as a team (an awesome team). Last but not least, we are like sisters. We see each other every single day, basically 24-7.Even though we are cousins, to us we are sisters. As you can see, I have many family members, but my cousin Marisa is my favorite because she is supportive, she is helpful, and she is like my sister.

My Favorite Teacher by Vanessa Trujillo

Even though there are many teachers in my life, Mrs.Nordyke is my special teacher in my life. To begin, she’s always happy every single day. She is happy 24-7; it’s amazing. Next, Mrs.Nordyke is exciting. She is always excited because we draw her Nordyke pictures for her huge Nordyke book. Last but not least, I have her every single week; it makes me happy to see her 5 days a week. I can’t count how many times I see her, I think about 10,000,000,000 million times. As you can see, my favorite teacher is Mrs.Nordyke because she’s happy, excited and I see her all the time.

Changes to the Cafeteria by Breanne Gerlock

My 3 changes to the lunchroom would be nice to have. Initially, I would like to change where we sit. We would get to sit where ever we want, and we don’t have to sit with our classmates. The 5th graders would be able to sit with 5th graders and 4th graders would sit with other 4th graders. Likewise, I would want to change the drinks we have. We should have chocolate milk every day. Also, we should get Pepsi every other day. Last but not least, I want to change the food. We should get to pick out what ever we want to eat. They should get us some potato chips (like barbeque chips). Clearly, my 3 changes to the lunchroom would be nice to have because we would get to sit wherever we want, pick what we want to drink and would get to pick the food we want.

The Terrible Turkey Day by Jasmine Lopez

I’ll never forget the time I was a turkey. It all started when I went to bed,

(I was human then).When I woke up I was going to wiggle my toes, and I saw three webbed toes with bumpy skin.

Soon after I was outside and something hurt like a needle, and out popped a feather, and more followed after. Then a beak came instead of a mouth. Sadly I ended up in the barn (Guess what came to my knowledge, it was Thanksgiving).

Forty minuets later a tall, crazy man started to chase me. I ran as fast as a speeding bullet (Eventually I wore him out). Seven minuets later he came out with a knife and caught me! Just as he was going to cut off my head I tuned back!

What I learned from this experience is that it’s hard to be any animal on any holiday.

Halloween by Alyssa Martin

Halloween is a wonderful holiday. To begin, you can get costumes. It’s awesome getting to be any thing! Plus, I love all the makeup you can wear. Additionally, candy is amazing! You can get enough to fill the entire Empire State Building. There’s all different kinds and flavors (yum). Finally, decorating for Halloween is awesome (even better than candy). You can make spiders and fake cob webs. Skeletons give some people giggly bones. Clearly, Halloween is a spectacular holiday because you can wear a costume, get candy, and decorate.

My Special Item by Jasmine Lopez

My favorite item is a big, red, valentine gorilla. Initially, it is special, it was given to me by a friend, oh no my best friend. Her name was Jazmin Medina. Furthermore, my gorilla is pillow like and it helps me sleep. It has a million little fluffy strands all over its body, even on his wrists. Also, when it’s cold, it keeps me warm during the night. Clearly, my favorite item is my gorilla because its pillow like, special, and fluffy.

My Favorite Friend by Angel Garcia

If I had to pick my favorite friend it would be Bryan. To begin, he plays soccer with me all the time. He likes being goalie but he can’t block slow balls. When he plays like a player and I’m goalie he kicks as hard as a rock. Further more, we play a lot of video games. We both play the game called Black Ops Call of Duty. He only plays God of War. Finally, he’s always there for me. He waits for me at school. Sometimes he waits for me at home. As you can see, Bryan is a good friend because he plays soccer with me, plays video games with me, and he’s always there for me.

Thanksgiving by Destiny Torres

Although I enjoy every holiday, Thanksgiving is the absolute best. To begin, food is the best and yummy. Turkey is the best on thanksgiving when your family gives you fantastic brown gravy with it. Pumpkin pie is the best with whipped cream white as snow. Additionally, spending time with family is spectacular. I would see my cousins Jordon and Jaden when they invite me on Thanksgiving to have dinner. Together at their house we play lots of video games in their bedroom like race cars, and Mortal Combat. Lastly, I love to go into my purple room and relax all day. Watching football is the best when nobody bothers you. Taking a nap is the best when I watch TV on the couch. Without question, Thanksgiving rocks because I eat great food, see my family, and relax.

My Favorite Place to Eat by Vanessa Trujillo

My favorite place to eat is Carlos Miguel’s for 3 good reasons. To start, Carlos Miguel’s has Mexican food. I like Carlos Miguel’s because it’s delicious. Next, I like to eat at Carlos Miguel’s because I can learn a different culture. I can experience a different type of food. Last but not least, it’s the best restaurant because you can bring your whole family there. We could celebrate a birthday, or just eat there. Now you can see, my favorite place to eat is at is Carlos Miguel’s because it has Mexican food, I can learn a different culture, and you can bring your whole family there!

My Favorite Place to Eat by Savannah Stein

My favorite place to eat is Texas Road House. To begin, they have peanuts when you sit down. They also give you peanuts when you leave. Moreover, they have some amazing bread on the table. While you are waiting you can munch on them for a little while. Finally, there steak is baller. They water in my mouth by the time I am done chewing; I am not thirsty anymore. They are enormous like the Twin Towers, too. Thus, Texas Road House is my favorite place to eat because the peanuts, the amazing bread and the mouth watering steak

In Honor of Chris Tarte and Veterans Everywhere

The 4th and 5th graders of Oak Creek Elementary honor the servicemen and women of the United States who put their lives on the line every day to fight for the freedom and security of our country.

We would also like to honor Chris Tarte, a true American hero who valiantly risked his life in Afghanistan in order to protect the rights and freedoms of Americans everywhere. Chris recently suffered serious injuries in service of his country, and the boys and girls of Oak Creek want to commend him for his honorable service and wish him the best birthday and Veterans Day we can. We appreciate your bravery and service and it is because of people like you that we are able to have the opportunities and freedoms only found in this great nation.

The famous people I want to meet are the Iconic Boyz for many reasons. To begin, the Iconic Boyz are from ABDC or known as Americas Best Dance Crew. They are the best, but they didn’t win the competition. Next, I like the Iconic Boyz because they are from New Jersey. I really want to meet them. Last but not least, I’ve been saving my money to go to New Jersey to see them, I have $83.10. I’m going to bring 5 of my friends and my 1 month older cousin. Now you see, the famous I want to meet is the Iconic Boyz.

Best Friend by Angel Garcia

If I had to pick my favorite animal it would be a puppy. To begin, my puppy would be playful. Every time we play, we would play with the ball. After we play with the ball, he would roll as fast as a cheetah. Furthermore, he would be so cute. He would be as cute as a rainbow. He would also be as cute as a baby panda. He would also be so cute; I would pet him every time he does something for me. Also, I would walk him around the city. He would walk around the whole park. I would walk him down the street (especially on the sidewalk). He would walk around the whole park. I would walk him in the sidewalk. Then, I would exercise him at the house. We would play fetch. He would be running around the house. He would run as fast as a cheetah. Finally, we would go to the beach and swim. We would splash everywhere on the beach. My puppy and I would dive all the way to the bottom of the beach. As you can see, I would pick a puppy because he would be playful, cute, and I would exercise him.
